For over 30 years, Stuart Cove's professional and fun dive team has been helping divers discover the best of the Bahamas with world-class diving in Nassau. They are one of the most well-known and respected dive operations in the world and ideally located at what is referred to as the “Tongue of the Ocean”! Their reputation in the dive industry is unsurpassed and they offer the best in Nassau diving. Because of the fantastic dive conditions, Nassau is also known as the “ Underwater Film Capital” of the world! If you have seen TV or a movie that includes sharks, it was probably filmed in Nassau with the shark experts at Stuart Cove!

Dive the famous dive sites where James Bond movies were filmed, plus countless others, including Cocoon, Splash, Open Water, After the Sunset, Into the Blue, and many Shark Week episodes. But it’s not just about sharks & movies, there are also beautiful reefs, walls, and wrecks for divers of all levels to explore, and all are all just a short boat ride away from the dock!

Blue Hole Shark Safari Option

Offshore from Nassau, on the east coast of New Providence Island, the glittering turquoise waters give way to a deep blue abyss. This unnamed blue hole is roughly 100 feet across, and descends more than 200 feet. Despite its intimidating depths, the beauty of this site is experienced in full between 50 and 70 feet.

Giant striding from the boat, you’ll descend on a colorful reefscape and crystal-clear visibility. Fight the urge to follow the schools of sergeant majors and angelfish you pass by on the swim toward the hole, but be sure to keep an eye out for stingrays and nurse sharks passing by.

Sponges and pops of colorful coral lead your descent to 60 feet, where a crack in the rocky walls creates a spacious, cavern-like swimthrough. The intricate formations inside the crevice are a sight all their own, but look out for nurse sharks and stingrays who occasionally stop in

From June through September every year, hundreds of Atlantic sharpnose sharks migrate to the blue hole’s cool waters. The sleek predators resemble reef sharks, but are considerably smaller and far more timid. But diving into this swimming wall of sharks is a once-in-a-lifetime encounter for divers, and the ultimate blue hole experience.

Orange Hill Resort

Our base camp for the week, is set on a hilltop overlooking the ocean. It’s not fancy, but it's a quiet and comfortable little economy resort with a restaurant, pool, and an honor bar that have treated us very well for many years. It’s located right across the street from the beach, close to the airport, and the reason we like it is because it's so close (15-20 minutes) to the dive center. Transportation between the resort and dive center is provided each day for us by Stuart Cove, and a lockable gear room is available at the dive center so there is no need to drag around wet gear!
